About Us

In 2003, the Arizona School Facilities Board approved of the construction of Salida del Sol Elementary School as a replacement school for the K-3 grade students of Rancho Viejo.

Salida del Sol was built on the existing Rancho Viejo property. The school was completed for the 2004 – 2005 school year, with students and staff moving to the new building during Spring of 2004. The school received its name from the Crane Governing Board and the students selected the Roadrunner as the mascot.

Within the past few years, we joined together with Rancho Viejo, Crane's 4th-6th grade school, to become a K-6 site, adding a new wing for our outstanding 5th and 6th grade students and their phenomenal teachers.
We service preschool students through Crane's Great Beginnings Preschool program.

In 2018, Salida del Sol became an Apple Distinguished School. We continue to be a part of the Apple Education program, helping students learn and see the value that technology brings to problem-solving and innovation.
Salida del Sol is an Apple Distinguished School, proudly integrating technology in all subject areas, helping mold, encourage, and support our future leaders.
