Dear Salida del Sol Families,
Our neighboring school, Gowan Science Academy (GSA), will be performing a lockdown drill this Wednesday, May 24th in the afternoon to test one of the components of the district's emergency preparedness plan. The Yuma Police Department will be partnering with them for the drill.
This exercise will take place when the regular school day is no longer in session and therefore should not significantly impact students or teachers. We're sharing this information with you because our school is right next to GSA and we want you to be aware of the drill.

Estimadas familias de Salida del Sol,
Nuestra escuela vecina, Gowan Science Academy (GSA), realizará un simulacro de encierro este miércoles 24 de mayo por la tarde para probar uno de los componentes del plan de preparación para emergencias del distrito. El Departamento de Policía de Yuma se asociará con ellos para el simulacro.
Este ejercicio se llevará a cabo cuando el día escolar regular ya no esté en sesión y, por lo tanto, no debería afectar significativamente a los estudiantes o maestros. Estamos compartiendo esta información con usted porque nuestra escuela está justo al lado de GSA y queremos que esté al tanto del simulacro.
